Kurt – Photovoltaic System
Kurt – Photovoltaic System
General Information | |
---|---|
Location: | Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa |
Dwelling: | 4 Bedroom domestic house |
System Operation: | In this estate it is allowed to feed power back into the estate’s power grid. Therefore a combination of two solar technologies were utilised to accomplish this. For this installation VAC Solar installed a single string of PV modules feeding via the required protection into one of the two build in MPPTs of the KACO Grid-Tied inverter. This PV energy is used to charge the LiFePO4 battery, directly supply the load and to feed any excess power back into the grid. The Bi-Directional inverter on its turn will in the event of a power outage keep the Grid-Tied inverter on by simulating the grid with energy drawn from the LiFePO4 battery. During the evening the Bi-Directional inverter supplies the load with energy stored in the LiFePO4 battery. |
